Early Learning Programs
The Learning Consent Early Childhood Program supports early childhood providers to nurture a culture of consent and personal safety, helping children to build lifelong healthy relationships.
“Children who understand consent become adults that understand consent”
— Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia
1 in 4 Australian children have experienced child sexual abuse.
The Learning Consent Early Childhood Program aligns with the Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, to support early childhood providers to create safe learning environments that enrich children’s development and wellbeing.
The program includes comprehensive teacher training, fully resourced lesson plans, and age and stage appropriate story books that compliment the program. Additionally the program offers ongoing support for staff, and optional educational seminars for parents and carers.
Designed for flexible delivery, our Early Childhood Program can be integrated across a number of learning experiences in different settings, such as multiple ‘circle time’ sessions.
The program learning outcomes align to Learning Outcome 3 in The Framework, supporting children to become strong in their social, emotional and mental wellbeing. The program develops children’s knowledge and skills to enable them to show care and safety for themselves and others; develop a sense of body autonomy and boundaries; and learn ways to ask for and provide consent during everyday play.
Through expert-led training, comprehensive resources, and ongoing support, educators and parents/carers are empowered to nurture a culture of consent and personal safety, enabling children to build lifelong healthy relationships.
“Comprehensive consent education enables kids to practice consent when the stakes are low so they’re prepared when the stakes are high.”
— Sarah Casper, Comprehensive Consent
